What is Ombak Kitchen?

Ombak Kitchen is a fun-filled family restaurant with the famous seafood boil concept originating from the state of Louisiana, USA to maintain the freshness and juiciness. The restaurant is famous with the Signature Ombak Crazy Cajun sauce but, during the food review, we also tried their buttermilk curry sauce and cheese fresh baked oyster.

Another thing that you should know is they encourage diners to use your hands to indulge the seafood! Hence, Ombak Kitchen is famous for its tagline #pakaitanganjer, which mean use your hand.

Cheese Fresh Baked Oyster

The restaurant supply daily fresh seafood to the customers, including their Premium dishes such as Alaskan King Crab, Canadian Red Lobster, XL Live Premium USA Oyster and XL Live Mud Crab.

So, I have high expectation in terms of the freshness. Basically inside the cheese fresh baked oyster, there are purple cabbage, cheese, some smashing herb and oyster.

Lili thoughts:

The oyster was okay, but I suggest to eat while hot because of cheese taste kind of bland. So, what I did is, I put the seafood boil sauce to enhance the taste.

The Tiny Combo – RM89

I mentioned earlier that I tried their signature sauce, Cajun and the Buttermilk. The sauces come in the Tiny Combo have tons of fresh seafood and vegetables such as:

• Blue Mussels
• Clam Hamaguri
• Brocolli
• Corn
• Potatoes
• Rice

Lili thoughts:

Although their signature sauce is the Cajun, I prefer the Buttermilk more because I like the creamy taste. When you get rid of the seafood shells and dip into the sauce is the best thing ever. The freshness of the seafood and the buttermilk sauce is the best combination ever! I think you can request the sauce to get more heat, so ask them away first.

Basically, the Tiny Combo is suitable for 2-4 person, but if you’re big eater, I suggest you upgrade the combo for a more fulfilling meal.

Overall

I would say that it was a good dinner, and it makes me curious about the other options. The best part of Ombak Kitchen is the parking is spacious, and I can see that it’s the best spot for family gathering and birthday celebration! Fyi, they are also known as The Best Restaurant for Birthday Celebration in KL, where the package includes ‘Ombak Kitchen Signature Art of Dessert’.

Since COVID-19 are still out there, you can also opt for delivery service with the combo that they curated, which makes ordering seafood boil easier and faster, where you can use your hand and eat your heart out without any worries!
