There’s a new pizza shop in town, and I’m so curious about it! Phil’s Pizza sells New York-style pizzas located in Jalan Telawi, Bangsar. Where to find it? It’s the opposite Bar Shack Kitchen + Bar! You will spot the orange building with yellow chairs, and voila, you’ve arrived!

I heard many good reviews of their pizzas on Instagram, and I decided I needed to try them. So, I went there with high hopes last week!

We came just when they opened, and I saw they were still in the making of 8 types of pizzas that are currently available at the shop – Classic, Hot Wings, Margherita, Pineapple Sugus, Pepperoni, Meat La Pinyo, Vegan and Truffle Mushroom. If you want to know more about the pizzas, click here.

Out of 8 choices, my boss and I pick one Meat La Pinyo (bestseller), two Truffle Mushrooms and one Pepperoni. So, two slices per person, and that goes for our lunch!

I also have one of their handmade sodas flavour – Elderflower, the bestseller at their store. When I look at the fridge, they also have Sour lime, Rootbeer float and Passionfruit flavours. Every purchase will come with one cup of ice.

Total spent: Meat La Pinyo (RM11), Tuffle Mushroom (RM13 each), Pepperoni (RM11) and Elderflower soda (RM7).

Lili thoughts:

I ate two slices of pizza, and I’m full! I tried their Truffle and Meat La Pinyo pizza, and I have to say it’s 50-50. The truffle pizzas are delicious and generous with the number of truffles they put, but it’s not overwhelming.

For Meat La Pinyo, I have to wait for it to bake, and it’s a bit soft on the front, which at the end, it’s like I’m eating lasagna. But it’s okay, it’s flavourful, and you can spot the generous amount of beef bolognese, pickled chilli and cherry tomatoes.

The ambience is also great, and I love how decorative Phil’s Pizza are with cute stickers designed by a local illustrator (Balkis Burhanudin aka melowkis). Overall it is a great pizza spot as they’re generous with toppings; it’s flavourful, fulfilling and affordable!

My limit at Phil’s Pizza is two slices, but I won’t mind returning and trying other flavours!

COMING SOON:

I just got the news that Phil’s Pizza will have ice creams at their shop soon. I guess there will be around 3-4 flavours, and one of it will be TRUFFLE ICE CREAM! I can’t wait to come back and try the desserts!
